NE USA Dates Announced!

We are very excited to announce a limited number of dates in the Northeastern United States for this October. Following two huge dates in the Pacific Northwest on last year's US tour where John Brown's Body, our longtime colleagues in contemporary Reggae, joined us on some dates we decided we had to get together again with them in 2013, if even for just a few shows.

Philadelphia, Baltimore and New York City will see the Harvest Roots 2013 Tour featuring Groundation and John Brown's Body, while Boston will get Groundation all to yourselves. These are very rare East Coast USA dates, so we hope you will be able to join us.

Check the tour dates page for more information and ticketing!

Meet The Peeps Episode 6

Don Carlos surprised everyone at the Ostroda Reggae Festival with his impromtu vocals on the final song "Freedom Taking Over" during Groundation's set in Poland. Check out Kim Pommell in Groundation's Meet the Peeps episode six!

Honoring Marcus Mosiah Garvey

It has been 126 years since the birth of the great Black liberation leader Marcus Mosiah Garvey August 17, 1887 in the small sea-side town of St. Ann's Bay Jamaica. His name would become synonymous with Reggae music and Garvey would be the first leader to rally people to Ethiopia and the coming of a new King. Here is a short video clip from the documentary film Holding on to Jah where different musicians and Rasta elders share their knowledge of the life and times of Marcus Garvey. The intro scene of the Marcus Garvey statue was shot by Groundation's singer Harrison "Professor" Stafford back in 1999 in front of the library in St. Ann's Bay...special thanks to the film's director Roger Hall for posting this clip; look for Holding on to Jah's release in 2014.

Rockamovya ROTR Date Changed

Groundation's side project ROCKAMOVYA has moved their performance date for Reggae on to River. Grammy Nominated Jazz guitarist Will Bernard and legendary Jamaican drummer Leroy "Horsemouth" Wallace will hit the stage with the founding members of Groundation Saturday, August 3 at 6:10pm just after Les Nubians performance; we look forward to seeing you all there!
